Moms and Muffins

What timing! We went on a little KSL.com adventure to Provo and, of course, ended up staying at Jeff and Jill's rather than drive back home.  As luck would have it, it just happened to be "Moms and muffins" morning at Cortnie and Tayler's school.  A little PTA sponsored event involving moms (or grandmas), muffins and reading together.  Unbelievably, last year we were in town for "Dads and Doughnuts" day and Jay attended that one. I know, sweeeet!
Tayler and her classroom
Cortnie and her art work.
Good job! It was the very best one on the wall!  Cortnie's cute little friends excitedly greeted her at the door and asked her if this is the Grandma that spoils her :) If they were referring to the Grandma that took her skiing like 20 something times this season then maybe they had me confused with Carol and I can't really take credit for the Hannah Montana thing either....but I grabbed the glory for a minute and it made my day :)
Will and his new big boy hair cut and new work boots.

We went on a walk with Jeff.  It's the only rehab he can do so far since his back surgery.  Jay rode along side on a bike, his knee still hurts.
Thanks to Jarvis for being my personal piano consultant all week long.  I could be a proud piano owner in the near future.  I owe you lunch next time we come to Ideeeho.  Really, THANKS!
Other highlights: The Hub, our first time to try 5 guys burgers and fries, Provo DI .....drop off and shopping, go figure!

Happy 2nd Birthday Jace

Little Mr. Jace is 2.  He is such a busy, noisy, cute, sweet, sometimes naughty, smart, fun, climbs like a monkey, "cars" loving, hilarious little boy!  Welcome to the terrible/terrific 2's.
Garret kind of unintentionally stole the thunder from Jace's birthday this year.  He gave us all a diabetic scare that could have been tragic, but prayers are answered, miracles happen and angels are among us.  Forgive me Garret, for sharing but it's all I can think about.  None of us will ever forget Jace's 2nd birthday.  Trulie, you and your mom are my heros.
Happy Birthday, Jace. Love you all!

Monster Trucks and movies

We made a quick trip to visit Shelli and Dustin and Kennedy and Hudson.  Dustin had the day off so we braved the blizzard and did a session at the Rexburg Temple.  The boys wouldn't stand in the snow for a picture.
The Cocoa Bean is irresistible. The cupcakes taste even better than they look.
My Rexburg favorites:
The Cocoa Bean Cupcake Cafe
Dairy D's (ice cream)
DI (treasures)
Artco(paper by the pound)
Fong's (chinese)
Backyard(frozen custard)
Pineapple Grill(no one likes it but me)
Florences Candy Shop (try princess michelle)
Bagel Cafe (smoothies with giant tapioca)
The boys and Kennedy went to the Monster truck show in Pocatello, I'm so happy I wasn't required to go.  Shelli and I had a perfect evening.....shopping and a movie.  It was so fun to just be together.
Obviously, Hudson had a great time at the monster trucks.
As I remember we were discussing Shelli and Jill's recent arm (wrestling) pulling event which lead to this :)  Lots of Cold Stone ice cream energy to burn.  Yes, we snacked our way through the weekend.

Park City

We spent a few days in Park City while Garret and Trulie and Jace were vacationing there.  We celebrated Jenna's birthday and had dinner with Jeff and Jill's family.  Jeff was in a lot of pain with his back and Jay's knee was hurting so it was a laid back, take it easy few days.  The next weekend Jeff had successful back surgery and has felt so much better.
Tayler(with new crocs) and Simba the cat.
Garret, Trulie and Jace

Jeff hobbled out and gave us a tour of his sweet barn yard and shop (he calls it a shop but it's more like Costco.....size and content) Being an electrician, every out building is extremely well lit.  He's a real farmer too, he has a tractor, he owns livestock. Cows, horses, chickens, a dog, Simba.....
His dad tries not to be envious.
Little farmers in training.  William and Jace.
Turns out, it's a rare occasion to have my boys together!
So if you are raising little kiddos, enjoy every minute because they grow up and end up not living next door like you had hoped!
Jeff, Jay, me and Garret
You can't go to Park City and not spend some quality time at the outlets.  Real crocs for $2.99!  Yes, I bought more than one pair.
No, this isn't the set for that 70's show. It really wasn't that bad in real life, the condo was very, very nice. It just looks extremely orange in this pic. It's the Marriott so I'm sure it's cutting edge designer color scheme.  Anyway......thanks for sharing your getaway with us, Garret and Trulie!  We had so much fun!

Junior Prom for Junior Jami

Jami has always wanted to wear the fancy dress to church the day after the dance.  She wasn't alone.   About seven other girls wore fancies, too.  During Sacrament meeting a little 4-year-old neighbor girl came and sat on Jami's lap.  Jami showed her the "glass slippers" and, bonus, they light up when you walk or tap on the bottom.  She was very impressed :) and asked Jami if she is a "real princess".  Which, of course, she is.

Preslie thought Jami was a real princess, too!
