Sisters Trip

Sisters Trip 2009!
me, Janie, Julie, Jill

Ok, just refer to Janie's blog....she told it so well! I will just add my favorites. We probably wouldn't have chosen Michigan for our travel destination if Janie didn't live there. I'm so glad we went because this is probably the last year for them in Michigan. Ann Arbor is just the cutest little-ish college town with the most loyal football fans I have ever seen....well I don't really follow loyal football fans but I'm just saying I didn't see anyone anywhere without a yellow (maize) Michigan t shirt on game day.

The Ward home is on a quiet, nice, tree lined street only a few blocks from the famous University of Michigan stadium. (That's a big deal in these parts)
Mackinac Island was the best, I wanted to stay a week! Nothing motorized is allowed on the island, so no traffic. It was so quiet, just bikes and horses and pedestrians. The 8 mile ride around the island was perfect, 75 degrees, wooded, shady, flat, easy riding!
Arch Rock

This is the island where the movie "Somewhere in Time" was filmed. (Mackinac trivia)
Charming! That is the word that best describes Mackinac Island.
Lunch on the waterfront.

Mom, Janie, Abby, Julie, Jill
I loved our walking tour through the University of Michigan campus. No wonder the fans are crazy loyal, it is very impressive.
We dropped Julie off at the airport early on her bday morning and we had a couple of hours until our flight so we took a quick tour of downtown Detroit. Janie and Dan took us to this fabulous pastry shop, sorry you missed it Julie! But, Happy Birthday! Sorry you spent it all in airports!
Thank you Janie for planning a fun sisters trip for us! And thank you Dan for babysitting and sharing your work with us!! Thanks to Andy, Abby, Jake and Estee for sharing your mom with her sisters for a few days! Love you!

Swiss Days and Birthday Parties

Happy Birthday to Cortnie!
Helping Cortnie open her presents: Preslie, Tayler, Jami and Kennedy. I can't believe my sweet little first born grandchild is 11 years old! She is so cute and fun and talented and smart and helpful and athletic! Love you, Cort!
We sure had a fun Heber labor day weekend. We went to Swiss Days and watched the parade and shopped, garage saled and ate yummy sweet pork burritos (thanks, Jill) and the highlight was the nighttime soccer game in Jeff and Jill's big back yard. With Jeff being an electrician, the backyard is very, very well lit.
Little Will turned 2! It was all about the cars!
Will is always sooo happy to see everyone. He runs and hugs and cuddles, what a sweety! It was really a sacrifice for Hudson to actually give Will his "cars" present.
Kennedy and Tayler all Hannah Montana-ed up, thanks to Jami.
Jeff has added on to the play land in the backyard. The latest addition is the 8 foot tall platform with the curvy slide. It's still in the works with future plans for monkey bars and a fire pole.
The kids kept asking me to go for a ride on the "mule". I thought they meant the 4 legged kind and I wasn't all that enthusiastic. But when I saw Jeff's latest acquisition I was excited to go for a ride :)
We took it up the street to Jill's friends house who makes jewelry and we all bought way too much. It's just too cute!

Webb family fun weekend of family fun-Rexburg edition

Nate, Dustin, Hudson, Cortnie and Jeff.
The guys (and Cortnie) went to the dunes on the first morning of fun, which are very close to Shelli and Dustin's place.
Then on the first afternoon of fun the boys went 4 wheeling in the mountains.
Eating wild huckleberries all along the way :)
Hudson, Tayler, Jay and Preslie.
I took some practice pictures of those willing to pose while everyone was getting ready for family photo shoot. Cuties!
I wish I had taken a picture of every wonderful delicious delight that Dustin whipped up for us while we were partying at their house. This was a baked ham with pineapple infused with whole cloves. Yum!
Shelli and Dustins garden and scarecrow at sunset.
This was sure a hit with the kids on dutch oven night. Around and around the yard all together in the 4 wheeler trailer.

Eli and Hannah driving Kennedy's mustang. Don't sing "Eli's Coming" to Eli, he does NOT like that song. :)
Beach Day!
Pretty cool to have a lake in the back yard! We canoed , we paddle boated, we met the goats on the island, we ate yummy treats until we were sick.
Nate, Preslie and Cortnie

ahhhhh, 82 degrees
Porter Park
Tayler and Kennedy hanging out
Shelli, Jenna, Jill, me, Hudson
The carousel at Porter Park
Preslie loved it, Will not so much.
Sunny and Kennedy. Sunny is now a resident of Rexburg, with a view of the lake and the Tetons from her pasture. Kennedy tells me barrel racing is in her future.
We took in a soccer game while we were in town. Sugar City soccer. Good stuff!
Hudson kicked this football back and forth the entire soccer game.
She shoots, she scores!
We all had such a fun long weekend at the Chambers estate! The highlight for me was all things huckleberry. Shelli and Dustin's neighbors graciously shared their highly secretive special wild growing huckleberry picking spot. Somewhere in the surrounding mountains that they can hopefully locate again next year. They picked enough to share with us and we had huckleberry muffins, huckleberry pancakes, huckleberry shakes and my personal favorite, huckleberry cheesecake!

Webb cousins get together

Ross Park in Pocatello
Bruce and Grandma.
It was fun for Grandma to see so many of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren all together. It doesn't happen very often. Lots of cute little kiddos!
Easy rider.
Jeff " volunteered"to ride the Harley to Pocatello for the Webb cousins get together.
Too cute! Gavin is on the way to being a heavy hitter like his daddy, Jarvis.
Tayler
Preslie, Hudson, Will, Jace.
All the 2 or almost 2year olds. It was more difficult than you might think to get this picture.
This was the closest I could get to a group shot. Few would cooperate for a posed pic with everyone, but it was fun to get all the cousins together for a picnic and the kiddos loved the water park.
